Faulty Nissan Primara SVE?
I own a Nissan Primera SVE 2.2 Deisel. For some time now I have been getting the Engine managemennt light (EML)on intermitently. When I turn the ignition on there is a fast ticking under the bonnet in front of the drivers side. Possibly a relay. When I turn off the ignition without trying to start the engine there is a slower ticking on the other side of the bulkhead. I understant this second ticking is the exhaust valve (or something). It has been into the garage to attempt a fix, but they replaced the cam and crank sensors as the computer readout said was the fault, but it still exists. I can start the engine if I keep turning the ignition on and off until the EML is steady and then there is no problem until I turn off and then try to start the engine again later. It does this sometimes, but not always. Every time it does start OK it carries on running OK. No problems.
Any ideas?
I would check the manufacturer to see if there is a recall on your car for this. Similar thing happened to me on Honda del Sol, and it turned out to be a recall. I still haven't gotten it fixed. Best of luck with yours!
