Gas Furnaces - A Needed Fixture For Today's Home Environment
Every winter season or snowy day, people rely on the protection of their shelters. Brick and mortar houses provide walls that keep the winds and the sheets of snow and hail away from the residents inside. In past years, people have become content with the sturdy shield of the typical house. However, today's residents are not content with the simple heat afforded by concrete walls. The walls of a house are simply not enough to store hot air and keep away the cool air from entering the house. Sometimes, imperfections in the creation of the house may leave cracks or holes open that causes air to seep into the rooms. At other times, it may be the age of the house which causes such cracks. In both cases, the cold air is able to spread throughout the rooms of the residence, causing inconvenience for all concerned. Thus, for the homeowner of today, furnaces have become popular appliances for a more comfortable home.
A furnace is a container that allows hot air to be distributed through a home. Most homes around the world, especially those in locations where there are cold weather conditions, are constantly in dire need of furnaces to keep the rooms warm. Furnaces are currently sold in stores around the world, and because of the increasing market for online buying and selling; furnaces can even be sold through the Internet. Gas furnaces are among some of the most prominent kinds of furnaces available in the market today. These furnaces operate through the use of heated gas. The gas used in such furnaces can be in the form of natural, propane or bottled gas. The prominence of gas furnaces can be attributed to its relative age - in December of 1919, an inventor named Alice H. Parker submitted a patent application for a device that could be considered one of the first gas furnaces.
Gas furnaces work through heating stored gas from inside the device. A user merely determines the typical temperature for the room of a house. A thermostat constantly checks the temperature to see if the room has maintained this preset level; should room temperature fall below the recommended temperature, the furnace automatically begins the heating process. Fans absorb the cold air into the furnace, which is cleaned with filters. An igniter is charged with an electric current, causing it to grow hot. This powers open a valve that releases gas through a system of tubes inside the furnace. The gas is sent through pipes and into burners. The burners combine the cool air with the heated gas in order to produce warmer air. The hot air is then either returned via ducts in the house, or transferred to a container called the firebox, which then becomes the heat provider for the house. Once the entire process is complete, the thermostat checks if room temperature has returned to the customer's preset levels. Once it has, the gas furnace automatically turns off.

It now falls to the wise homeowner to make informed decisions about which gas furnace brand to purchase. Baldwin Cornet?
I was just wondering if anyone has heard of the manufacturer of a cornet i recently acquired. on the top of the bell, read correctly if you hold the bell facing left and the mouthpiece facing right, is stamped "BALDWIN", and below, in cursive, is "Special". on the 2nd valve casing, on the left side if you're playing it, and reading correctly if it's bell-up, is the serial number, "300880". also, on the leadpipe, on the right side if you're playing, is stamped "CR301". It was "Supplied by Phil Parker Ltd", as stamped on the underside of the bell, but there is hardly any info about them anyway, and I'd be more interested in Baldwin than Phil parker. I also read somewhere that there are Conn copies... is this one of them? All info appreciated. Thanks.
