1992 cadillac heater core r&r?
i am trying to replace the heater core on my caddy deville
i took out the glove box assy. and the two computers, i can see three bolts on the bottom of the box but i cant see any other.
where are all the heater core box bolts located and how can i get to them ?
You need to get one of those big Chilton's manuals that covers your make and model. It's worth the $25-35 to check out how complex this task is. It's not quite as bad as removing the entire dashboard like on the Ford models but it is nearly as complex as pulling an engine and rebuilding it by hand. In a 1988 Cadillac it is a kick in the groin with pointy cowboy boots job and as newer models have more and more stuff jammed into them it typically gets harder or more difficult in the newer models.
To get an accurate idea of how difficult it is to do, call the dealership (Cadillac) and a few other repairs shops and simply ask them how many hours does the job pay or require. If it's in the 8 hour plus category then give yourself at least a couple of days to do it yourself. Even in the old rear wheel drive cars without A/C it can take a whole day.
