electric furnace blower motor off before coils?
House was built in '72, furnace might be a little newer. Electric Furnace. Motor burnt up 2 weeks ago, got a new motor, had issue w/ the 125a breaker to the subpanel that the furnace is on. Got that taken care of, problems ever since. luke-warm air out of furnace. I finally have all 4 coils heating up; 1 coil kicks in, then about 10 seconds later the fan comes on; this is fine. The problem is that the blower turns off 25-30 seconds before the coils. They are getting really hot, red hot, and burnt smell and smoke pours through the vents. I would love to know the correct wiring sequence to go from the thermostat to the controls: motor first? sequencer? something appears to be backwards, I know the coils should shut off 30 seconds or so before the fan. I finally got all 4 coils kicking at once, w/ nice warm air out of the vents, the heater ran for one cycle, then kicks back on w/ lukewarm air and can't fight the 10 degree temp outside. Thanks!
